Only 30 voters in Kamsing Polling Station while Khliehriat Rymbai with 14107 has highest numbers of voters

JOWAI: Altogether 2, 51, 506 voters will decide the fate of 101 candidates from 29 constituencies under the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) out of which Rymbai Khliehriat constituency registered the highest numbers of voters with 14107 and Saipung constituency with 5429 has the lowest numbers of voters while Mowkaiaw B Polling Station under Mowkaiaw Constituency has the maximum numbers of voters of 1398 and Kamsing Polling Station is with least number of voters of 30 only.

The Kamsing polling Station is located across the river Myntdu along Lumpyngngad and Kharkhana Village and the polling team have to travel by boat the reach the polling station for enabling the 30 voters their right to vote.

Interestingly, in almost all the constituencies, the number of female voters outnumbered the male voters and as per official record there are 129681 females voters while the male voters are 121825. However only in Saipung constituency, the numbers of male voters with 2758 is higher than the female voters of 2671.

There are 7576 voters in War East which includes 3705 males voters and 3871 females voters while under War Central the numbers of voters is 8057 where there are 3928 males and 4129 females and War West has 4133 males voters and 4533 females voters making it a total of 8666.

Under Sohmynting-Khliehtyrhci, 8298 voters (3997 males and 4301 females) are registered while in Mukhla Wahiajer there are 9309 voters comprising of 4561 males and 4748 females and in Ummulong –Moodymmai constituency there are 9341 voters where males are 4580 and females are 4761.

Nongbah constituency comprised of 7262 (3451 males and 3811 females), Nartiang Umladang has 7037 voters (3507 males and 3530 females) while there are 4519 males voters and 5049 females voters making a total of 9568 in Nongjngi constituency and there are 9125 voters (4480 males and 4645 females) in Mynsngad Khanduli.

The constituency with least numbers of voters i.e. Shiliang Myntang has 5678 voters where males voters are 2802 and females voters is 2876 while Barato Mukroh has 9270 voters (4596 males and 4674 females), Saphai has massive numbers of voters with 11578 voters (5691 males and 5887 females) while Mowkaiaw has 9236 voters (4425 males and 4811 females) and Raliang is 9202 voters (4454 males and 4748 females) besides Shangpung registering with 7947 voters (3823 males and 4124 females).

The Jowai Town is divided into three constituencies namely Jowai North with 10431 voters (4759 males and 5672 females), Jowai Central having 7928 voters (3639 males and 4289 females) and Jowai South is with 11887 voters (5724 males and 6163 females) . Muthlong Sohkymphor has 10236 voters which include 4827 males and 5409 females.

Turning to East Jaintia Hills District, Tuber constituency has 7387 voters (3570 males and 3817 females), Musniang Rngad with 8077 voters (3909 males and 4107 females), Rymbai Khliehriat has 14107 voters (6733 males and 7374 females) while in Sutnga Nongkhlieh there are 7894 votes (3904 males and 3990 females).

Under Sumer constituency there are 5999 voters (2972 males and 3027 females) while in Saipung has 5429 voters (2758 males and 2671 females) and Narpuh is registerd with 11442 voters (5772 males and 5670 females) besides Bataw Lakadong having 6180 voters (3104 males and 3076 females).
