Operation PRAGHAT: Another Jihadi operative arrested from Kokrajhar
The Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police arrested another Jihadi operative from Kokrajhar district on Tuesday under its Operation PRAGHAT to dismantle Global Terrorist Organizations (GTO) across the country.
Based on specific intelligence inputs, STF launched a joint operation with Kokrajhar police leading to the arrest of Nasim Uddin SK, a suspected member of Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) and Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen (JAM).
Nasim was a close associate of Nur Islam Mandal, a previously arrested prime suspect in the case, and had been evading law enforcement since December 17, 2024.
Nasim was deeply involved in procuring weapons and manufacturing IEDs intended for extremist activities. His arrest is a major blow to radical elements attempting to destabilize national security and disrupt India’s sovereignty.
Nasim has been arrested under a slew of stringent laws, including the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Explosives Act, the Arms Act, and the Foreigners Act. Following his production before the court, he has been remanded to police custody for seven days.
