Opp Congress to field Jingjang M Marak for Gambegre bye poll

The opposition Congress on Thursday announced Jingjang M Marak as its official candidate for the upcoming bye-election to the Gambegre Assembly seat, slated on November 13.

“The Congress president Mallikarjun Karge, has approved the proposal to nominate (Jingjang M Marak) as party candidate for the bye elections…,” AICC general secretary KC Venugopal said in a statement.

The bye-election is necessitated following the resignation of Saleng A Sangma from the Congress, after his election as Tura member of parliament (MP).
