Over 200 BSF troopers in Meghalaya ready to donate plasma
Over 200 Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, who have recovered from the COVID-19 infection, are ready to donate their plasma.
“More than 200 personnel are ready and will donate plasma as and when we receive any call from NEIGRIHMS or State Health Department,” informed UK Nayal DIG/PRO of BSF Meghalaya Frontier on Friday.
He said with the spirit of serving the nation and humanity, BSF undertook a drive to motivate its personnel recovered from COVID-19 disease to donate their plasma.
Giving practical shape to the campaign, Nayal said 2 recovered BSF personnel namely Constable P.P Saikia and Constable MD Rasidul Karim of 97 Bn, Ftr HQ BSF Meghalaya currently temporary duty at Assam has donated their convalescent plasma in GMC Hospital Guwahati, Assam on August 20.
According to him, the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic is the defining global health crisis of this time and it is the greatest challenge we are facing today. Since its emergence, BSF was also not left untouched by the virus.
