Pala alleges Garodubi incident was ‘pre-planned’
Opposition Congress chief Vincent H Pala has accused the ruling National People’s Party (NPP) of trying to threaten the party supporters in Rajabala.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Pala alleged that the stone pelting incident at Garodubi village was planned.
“…this was planned and might be the government knows or the NPP knows that the Congress is strong so they are trying to find ways and means on how to threaten the people so we are trying to counter that,” he said.
When asked, Pala said that the stones were in fact pelted from somebody’s house against the Congress workers adding “It was not started by us”.
The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president further alleged that the present government has arrested only Congress workers. “They did not arrest those people who started pelting stones on our people,” he said.
Informing that an FIR has been lodged by the party, Pala said the NPP has also filed a counter FIR from their side. “Therefore, I will be talking to the DC and SP. I will also talk to Kharkongor (CEO) that action should be taken from both sides because they will try to scare our people,” he said.
