Pala support Mukul’s demand for investigation into NPP’s illegal collection from coal, drugs
Opposition Congress chief Vincent H Pala on Friday expressed full support to the recent demand made by the Leader of Opposition Mukul Sangma for setting up a thorough investigation into the alleged using of illegal money from drugs and coal by the ruling National People’s Party (NPP).
Speaking to reporters, Pala said, “I really support Mukul’s idea that we should have an investigation. The investigation should be at least for the last 10 years.”
The former Shillong MP also alleged, “Let me tell you the illegal coal started for the last 10 years. The illegal transportation of coal is for the last 10 years, drugs also more than 10 years. For example today if you carry chicken from Guwahati to Shillong, you have to pay 20,000 or 30,000 per pickup. It came in the social media, it came in the news. Carrying coal from Jaintia Hills to Guwahati, you have to pay Rs 96,000. It is there on social media. If we have to carry limestone from Jaintia Hills to Guwahati, you have to pay Rs 20,000. It is there in the news. If you are carrying sand or anything you have to make an entry. So everything is an entry and this entry starts for the last 10 years.”
