Parkings lots turned to avenue for wholesalers in Shillong

To enable farmers to evacuate their produce and for meeting local requirements, the office of the Deputy Commissioner has made arrangements for only farmers/aggregators and wholesalers/ retailers to trade at Anjali Parking Lot and Sankhamti Parking Lot, Urkaliar from 25^th to 28^th May, 2021 for the former, and 25^th to 27^th May, 2021 for the latter.

For Anjali, ONLY farmers from Mawlai, Mawryngkneng, Mawkynrew and Mylliem Blocks will be permitted and for Urkaliar, farmers from Mawkasiang, Mawpat, Lumdiengsai, Mawlong, Saisiej, Diengpasoh, Tynring, Nongmynsong, Umkdait and Jaroit areas, who have received specific passes from the BDOs for the purpose.

Similarly only wholesalers or retailers/ iTeams who have valid passes will be permitted to make purchase, for evacuation of produce outside the state or for dropping to locality stores.

No middlemen or individual/ household buyers will be permitted. They may purchase from their locality stores only. Such persons will not be permitted to enter the market areas.
