People from Six villages barred from Border trade

The Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Amlarem Sub- Division, Amlarem in an order issued on April 19 has directed the residents of the containment zones to comply with the measures enforced as per the containment order issued on the 13th April 2021.

The areas which have been declared as containment zones include Shnongpdeng, Darrang, Kongwang, Lymba, Dawki, Bakur, including the Entry Points, i.e. Dawki Amlarem Jowai road, Shnongpdeng, Dawki Boating Point and the Dawki PHC up to Tamabil Junction as Containment Area.

The order states that no persons from containment areas are permitted to participate in the Border Trade as long as the containment order is in place. Any violation of this Order shall entail prosecution under the penal provision of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and under Section 188 of IPC.
