PhD conferred to Hakani Sae Paia Laloo

Dr. Hakani Sae Paia Laloo was conferred with the title of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Comparative Literature from the Centre of Comparative Literature, University of Hyderabad.

She completed her thesis titled “(Re) Interpreting Khasi Consciousness: A Study of Late 19th and Early 20th Century Khasi Writings.” She has worked under the supervision of Professor Sowmya Dechamma C.C. (HOD), Centre of Comparative Literature.

Dr. Hakani is the daughter of Willming SL Rymbai and Dr (Mrs) Arcy Laloo, sister of Dr. Howni W Laloo and resident Bhagyakul, Laitumkhrah, Shillong. She has also completed her M.A. English (Gold Medalist) and MPhil (First Class with Distinction) in Comparative Literature from the University of Hyderabad.
