The commuters are complaining of the badly damaged bridge at the Jowai By-Pass along Thadlaskein- Soomer By Pass as it posed an impending threat to their life and safety especially during rainy season and at night.

The damaged is to the extent that the iron rods came out of the RCC structure.

The Jowai Bypass is 8 km stretch from Thadlaskein to Soomer is constructed by Ms. Dhar Construction Company under supervision of PWD Central Division, Jowai at total cost of Rs. 46.6 crore funded under Special Accelerated Road Development Programme for North Eastern Region (SARDP-NE), Ministry of Road Transport and Highway.

The construction of the road was completed on December 2016 and opened for public on 22 March, 2017.
