Pinemount/Public schools to be under DSEL

The state government has decided to bring the Pinemount and Public schools under the jurisdiction of the Directorate of School Education and Literacy (DSEL). 

Informing this after a cabinet meeting on Monday, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said the Pinemount and Public schools have been historically under the jurisdiction of the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education (DHTE). 

Stating that these are schools up to class XII, he said that in Meghalaya all the schools up to class XII are under the DSEL.

“Therefore, a decision was taken in the Cabinet that the Pinemount school and the Public Schools should also come under the jurisdiction of the DSEL instead of the DHTE,” the CM informed.
