PNB employee & five years old girl who went missing found death

The mortal remains of one woman and a five year old girl were recovered from a river located near NEHU, Mawlai on September 19.

The woman identified as Niancy Riahtam and the girl as Erika Thabah went missing since Wednesday.

Riahtam was an employee of the Punjab National Bank and she went to inspect her under construction house near ISBT, Mawiong on Wednesday morning at around 10 am. She took along the five years old girl who was the daughter of her neighbour.

Some people saw the two deceased at around 4 pm after they got down from a vehicle in Macdonald Road Mawiong Umjapung but they didn’t not reach home till 9 pm.

The relatives informed the police about the missing of the two deceased and the relatives accompanied by local people went for mass search for them. Some boys who went for swimming to the river on Thursday afternoon saw the two bodies floating in the river and reported to police.
