Police asks public not to fall prey to online frauds
The state police on Friday issued an advisory requesting the public not to fall prey to tricks adopted by online fraudsters to extract money in the name of COVID-19 Relief Fund.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police (SP) Sylvester Nongtnger informed that there are URLS (sites) that are being circulated on social media platforms by fraudsters for extracting money from the general public in the name of COVID 19 Relief Fund.
“It is hereby advised to the public not to fall prey to such tricks by online fraudsters,” he said.
