Police commemoration day observed in Jowai
JOWAI: The Police of West Jaintia Hills District Executive Force today joined in with the rest of the country in observing the Police Commemoration day at Jowai Police Station.
The Superintendent of Police Lakador Syiem said the Police Commemoration day is being observed every year to pay tribute to the Martyrs who had lost their lives while discharging their duty.
Respect was paid to the 292 police personnel’s of different ranks who sacrifice their lives while performing their duty across the country and to two policemen of WJHs DEF (Lt) Lnk. Lainlutha Darnei and (Lt) D/C Lambadme Suchiang.
Two minutes silence was also observed as mark of respect to the Martyrs. Besides the Police Personnel’s, Deputy Commissioner Garod LSN Dykes was also present, laid wreath to pay his tribute.
