Prime accused arrested in connection with the murder of 2 females in Nongstoin

West Khasi Hills police have arrested the prime accused in the alleged murder of two persons in Nongstoin.

Informing this on Thursday, Assistant Inspector General of Police (A) GK Iangrai said that material evidences has been seized from the residence of the accused person at Nongrim Hills in East Khasi Hills district.

He said the investigation of the case is in progress to further ascertain the facts and circumstances.

On Monday night, a 79-year-old woman and her maid were allegedly murdered at Nongstoin village in West Khasi Hills District.

The victims have been identified as Phlesis Syiem (79) and her maid Maitlynti Lyngdoh Marshillong (25).

According to police, the perpetrator of the crime had locked the house from outside after committing the murder.
