Prime Minister Modi launches mobile food testing labs in Meghalaya

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually flagged off two Mobile Food Testing Laboratory, Vehicles (FSW) on Sunday at the premises of the State Central Library, Shillong in the presence of Health & Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh.
The two 2 mobile food testing laboratories of the Food Safety Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) are known as Food Safety on Wheel (FSWs). This addition is a stride towards ensuring food safety to the last mile. The FSWs, equipped with cutting-edge facilities and expert staff, will not only enhance testing capabilities but also deliver essential training to strengthen food safety practices.
Furthermore, they will create awareness among the public by reaching the farthest corners of the state.
The establishment of 2 FSWs in Meghalaya comes with a total project cost of 0.95 Crores. Commissioner, Food Safety, Meghalaya Dr Joram Beda and Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District RM Kurbah and other dignitaries also attended the programme.
