Prohibitory order promuglated for safety of bridge in Amlarem Sub Division

In order to prevent unforeseen collapse of the old dilapidated bridge along Amlarem – Padu-Nongbareh Road, in-charge Sub Divisional Magistrate, Amlarem YR Mawlong promuglated Section 144 CrPC prohibiting the plying of heavy motor vehicles carrying loads beyond the capacity of nine tonnes along the said road.

The prohibitory order was issued on Friday on the basis of the report submitted by the AEE PWD (Border Roads), Amlarem Sub-Division, that heavy motor vehicles are constantly plying on the said road.

Such plying of vehicles carrying beyond nine tonnes may lead to an unforeseen collapse of the bridges and poses a threat to human lives, public property and to villages being cut off.
