PWD prefers Seinraij to beg for repair of road before Behdieñkhlam

Despite the fact that Behdieñkhlam is annual festival of the State of Meghalaya but the Meghalaya Public Works Department (PWD) seem to be ignored over the significant of the Festival as there is no initiative from them till date to repair the deplorable roads in West Jaintia Hills District.

This was brought to light to media persons on Wednesday by Sein Raij Jowai President OR Shallam.

He said, “Every year we went and meet the PWD higher up for requesting them to repair the roads before the Behdieñkhlam Festival.”

Why the PWD cannot initiate steps on their own for carrying out necessary repairs work before Behdieñkhlam, Shallam questioned

He also said that the PWD perhaps prefer to wait for them to come and plead before them for repairing the road.

Meanwhile, Shallam appreciated the efforts of EE PWD Jowai Central Division and SE PWD for their initiative for blackopping the Seinraij land in Iawmusiang, Jowai but link road in Jowai town in bad shape.
