Rahman not to contest upcoming GHADC elections

MDC from Balachanda constituency, Sofior Rahman said that he may not contest the upcoming elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) due to his health problems.

“My health condition is not so good. Maybe I am not going to contest the upcoming GHADC elections from Balachanda constituency,” Rahman said in a statement issued here on Wednesday.

The MDC said after he completed this term, he may also have to quit politics.

“(However), if my health condition will revive in future then I will contest the upcoming Assembly election in 2023 from Rajabala Constituency but not sure,” he stated.
