Rangthong PHC reopen
The Rangthong PHC has been declared as fit for re-occupation following closure for 6 days after the visit of one positive person to the PHC.
“The doctors and staff of the PHC have been quarantined and tested, and the PHC completely sanitized.
In the interest of uninterrupted health care services for the people of the area, one Medical Officer, a staff nurse, pharmacist, a multipurpose health worker and a Grade 4 staff have been deputed temporarily from other facilities while the staff of the PHC complete their quarantine requirements,” Deputy Commissioner, South West Khasi Hills Isawanda Laloo informed on Tuesday.
It is imperative that people have access to health care and particularly that maternal and child health care services are made available. ASHAs and AWWs are frontline workers who will reach out to pregnant mothers due for visits and infants who are on an immunization schedule, said Isawanda Laloo.
The Deputy Commissioner South West Khasi Hills District also appealed to the public falling under the PHC to come forward and have no apprehensions about seeking health care. The government will also soon be appointing a full time doctor for this facility.
“We must be educated and take precautions against Covid-19, but other health needs particularly of pregnant women, children, the ailing and elderly must not be neglected,” Laloo said
