Register yourself before helping people of West Jaintia Hills: DC

The Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills District in an order issued on 11.04.2020 has directed all NGO, Agency and Individuals from outside the State and District intending to help the people of the West Jaintia Hills District should register their names with the District Authority immediately.

He has also directed all the NGO, Agencies or Individuals of West Jaintia Hills District engaging in relief Works and other Programmes related to COVID-19 situation during this lockdown to inform the District Authority, Sub Divisional Officer (Civil), Block Development Officer concerned for better coordination and facilitating clearance of CAR PASSES etc.

The Deputy Commissioner has further informed that only those NGOs, Agencies or Individuals who have been registered and permission granted by the State Government or District Authority will be allowed to undertake relief works and other activities, programs and services in the District related to COVID-19 and lockdown situation. 

The order has been passed as it has come to the notice of the Deputy Commissioner and as reported that there are NGOs, Agencies and individuals from outside the State and District taking up relief works and other activities in West Jaintia Hills without the knowledge and permission of the District Authority. ADIPR
