Registration mandatory for returnees from outside Meghalaya on return to West Jaintia Hills District

The Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills on Friday informed that all returnees from outside the State of Meghalaya on return to West Jaintia Hills District to get registered themselves via online at https://meghalayaonline.gov.in/covid/testing.htm and to download the Arogya Setu App and the Behavioral management App from Google play store.

The Returnees are to get themselves, tested at Covid Testing Center and not to proceed to their Villages without completing the test. Further, they also need to inform the Headmen (Waheh Chnong) before visiting their Villages and the same will have to be intimated to the District authority.

The Deputy Commissioner has made it mandatory as reports has been received that persons/ returnees from outside the state of Meghalaya returning to the District without proper registration/ testing & information to the concerned authorities and  such action has led to detection of Covid -19 Positive cases which pose a danger to the Community at large.

Any person (s)/returnees found entering their Villages without completing the test or without informing the concerned Authorities in advance will be viewed seriously and necessary action will be taken against them as per law.
