Registration of bore wells and tube wells mandatory in West Jaintia Hills

With an aim to study the Ground water development and its scientific management in West Jaintia Hills District, the Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman District Level Committee on Ground Water Resources under West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai has directed all individuals, private and public institutions owning private bore wells and tube wells within West Jaintia Hills District to compulsorily register themselves with all relevant documents in the Office of the Executive Engineer (WR) West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai with immediate effect.

Non-compliance of the directive would be dealt with as per provision of law.
