Rehabilitation Professionals trained under Continuing Rehabilitation Education (CRE) Programme
Altogether 95 Rehabilitation Professionals across North East India were trained under the Continuing Rehabilitation Education (CRE) Programme with an aim to ensure that such professionals working amongst the PwDs are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and empathy needed to provide effective and holistic care.
A press communique informed that the Office of Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, CRC- Shillong under the administrative control of SVINRTAR Cuttack- Odisha Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India had conducted 2 days Zonal Level Continuing Rehabilitation Education (CRE) Programme on “An Integrative Approach- New Trends in Disability Rehabilitation” from January 16-17, 2025 at DERT Annex, Malki,Shillong.
This training programme holds immense significance in the realm of persons with disabilities (Divyangjan).
PwDs often require specialized care, interventions, and support to enhance their quality of life and enable them to participate fully in society.
The programme was chaired by Camelia Doreen Lyngwa, M.C.S., Director of Social Welfare & Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Govt. of Meghalaya, R. Passah, Assistant Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Govt. of Meghalaya, Dianghunlang Chyne, Architect, Office of Chief Engineer, CPWD Shillong, Meghalaya .
This training programme is conducted under the able guidance of Dr. Ram Shakal Sahani, Director, CRCSRE- Shillong and Coordination of Pranami Barua, Assistant Professor (Cli. Psy.), CRCSRE Shillong and Rajesh Chettri, Assistant, CRCSRE Shillong.
