Republic day celebrated in West Jaintia Hills

The 72^nd Republic day was celebrated in West Jaintia Hills District with great enthusiasm following the guidelines and protocols of the Government.

Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui unfurled the National flag and took the Rastriya salute to the tune of the National Anthem led by the local band and later addressed the gathering in Jowai at Jrisalein Play Ground, Chutwakhu, Jowai.

Kyrmen Shylla, Minister incharge of Revenue & Disaster Management Department hoisted the National Flag at Amlarem and Saleng A Sangma, MLA of Gambegre West Garo Hills hoisted the National Flag at Shangpung.

There was a Tableau presentation from various departments of the District projecting the schemes and achievements. There were altogether 12 tableaus displayed in Jowai.

Later, Health and Wellness Centre (Hwc) awards were given over. The Best Performance Health and Wellness Nurse was awarded to Lapynshai Kharshyndon of Sanaro Sc-Hwc.
The Fit Health Worker Doctor was awarded Dr RH Barbhuiya of Barato Phc-Hwc

The Fit Health Worker Nurse was awarded to Euginia M Khongdeit of Darrang Sc Hwc,  Isabetlin Kharbhih of Khanduli Sc-Hwc,  Joyfulness Thongni, of  Saitsama Sc-Hwc. The Fit Health Worker Lab technician was awarded to Anita Chen of Shanpung Phc-Hwc
The Best Health And Wellness Centre was awarded to Chutwakhu Health And Wellness Centre. Top Performing Hospital Base On Overall Utilisation Was Awarded To Pdengshakap PHC. 

Other highlights of the day include songs and dances.
