Ride-sharing app, AnyRide assures to take passengers safety and security
AnyRide, a ride-sharing app, is a product of the state’s very own company, NE Ride, which will be made operational throughout the entire state, including the district headquarters.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday, the owner of NE Ride, Robert Ryntathiang, mentioned that the product consists of two apps: one for passengers and the other for drivers.
He also mentioned that the app will be available across the entire state, not limited to Shillong. In case of no internet connectivity, people can call a helpline number n case they want to get a ride anywhere.
The vehicles used include four-wheelers, three-wheelers, and two-wheelers, with the four-wheelers mainly being local taxis and tourist cabs.
He said that one of the features of the app is the SOS, where the passenger can inform their relatives of their whereabouts and share their location via whatsapp.
The IT consultant for NERide Evan Kharsyntiew said that the NERide captain can be students or people who want to earn the side business or side hustle.
He said the rates are according to the rates set by the Transport department
He said, “Safety will be our endeavour to ensure the safety of passengers, the safety of passengers when they are commuting, we would like to tell our drivers and riders to ride safely. Of course, the two helmet rule is always there but speed is also a very important factor. So we tell our drivers to minimize speed.”
As far as the app is concerned, he said that the app has satisfied all the security checks as per Google standards and is also designed for use for old and new smartphones.
Stating that coming up with the app is a process of constant evolution, Kharsyntiew said, “We have heard rumours that the app is not secured, and that the app is not running well. But the app is running well now.”
He said that there are nearly 500 captains that are registered with the company.
