Riflewoman wins Gold Medal in the 23rd President’s Cup
SHILLONG: Jamuna Boro Riflewoman of Assam Rifles won Gold Medal in the 23rd President’s Cup at Labuan Bajo in Indonesia by demolishing Italy’s veteran boxer, Guilia Lamagna with a score of 5-0.
Jamuna Boro’s achievement is a good example that inspires and motivates everyone especially women to pursue their own dreams no matter what the circumstances may be. With this win she has proved to the world that if you have the will you will surely succeed and also open doors to bigger things.
Jamuna Boro comes from a humble family together with her two siblings were raised by their mother as their father passed away at her young age. Her mother Kruplebo Boro is a vegetable vendor in Belsiri, Sonitpur District, Assam. Even though, Jamuna Boro always had the privilege to train in the world class facilities and exposure provided by Assam Rifles due to that she has achieved many medals both in the Nationals and International platform.
She work very hard in order to make India proud by winning more medals and also to qualify for the Olympic games 2020.
