Ripos Lyngdoh won the Declamation Contest

JOWAI: Nehru Yuva Kendra, Jowai today organise a Declamation Contest on ‘Patriotism and Nation building’ at the Sookpoh Community hall, Chilliangraij Jowai in the presence of D. Rapsang Youth Coordinator Nehru Yuva Kendra. The declamation contest was organised as part of the Republic Day Celebration 2018-19.

Altogether fifteen contestants representing the five development blocks in both East and West Jaiñtia hills district of Meghalaya. Youths from Saipung, Khliehriat, Laskein, Thadlaskein and Amlarem development block represent their respective blocks in the declamation contest.

The winner of the declamation contest for both the East and West Jaiñtia hills district are first prize Ripos Lyngdoh from Rngad village representing Khliehriat block, followed by Sonovershine Nyalang of Mawlong village from Amlarem block in the second place and third place goes to Balam Pakma of Laskein block from Mynso village.

The winner were awarded prize money of rupees five thousand, two thousand and one thousand respectively. The winner of first prize is going to represent the two districts in the state level declamation contest which will be held in the later part of the year.
