Rozgar Mela Success: Dr. Subhas Sarkar distributes appointment letters to 48 candidates in Shillong
Union Minister of State for Education, Dr. Subhas Sarkar, participated in the Rozgar Mela held in Shillong on Monday, where he distributed appointment letters to newly recruited individuals following the Prime Minister’s address. In Shillong, appointment certificates were handed over to 48 candidates from various institutions including the North Eastern Hill University, North Eastern Police Academy, Employees Provident Fund Organisation, NEEPCO, NEIGRIHMS, and Department of Posts.
Expressing his satisfaction with the successful organization of the Rozgar Mela, the Union Minister highlighted the launch of the “Rozgar Mela – recruitment drive for 10 lakh personnel” by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He emphasized that this initiative is a significant step towards providing job opportunities for the youth and ensuring citizens’ welfare.
Dr. Sarkar underscored the importance of the Rozgar Mela as a significant addition to the central government’s various initiatives. He stated that the mission mode recruitment drive aims to fill 10 lakh jobs and is expected to generate additional employment opportunities in both the private and public sectors.
Furthermore, the Minister praised the effectiveness of the Karmayogi Prarambh module launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. This module includes a code of conduct for government servants, workplace ethics and integrity, and government HR policies and rules, facilitating their smooth transition into new roles. “I would also like to add that, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoP&T) had launched a Mobile Application of iGOT Karmayogi Portal, which would make it easy to access the Karmayogi Portal’, the Minister added.

Discussing the reforms in the government sector, Dr. Sarkar mentioned the emphasis on timely promotions for officers across various government organizations. He noted that these promotions, coupled with recruitment at a massive scale, are likely to create more entry-level vacancies.

Extending his congratulations to the new recruits, the Minister expressed confidence in their ability to contribute to building a New India with innovative ideas, advanced technology, and public participation. He reiterated the government’s commitment to creating systems, processes, and policies aimed at fostering a self-reliant India.
During the event, Ms. Natasha Manners from Meghalaya expressed her gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and hoped for more opportunities and assistance from the Central Government in the future. She encouraged other youths from Meghalaya to apply for Central Government jobs as well, citing her own appointment in NEIGRIHMS.


Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi distributed over 1 lakh appointment letters to newly recruited individuals via video conferencing and laid the foundation stone of Phase I of the Integrated Complex “Karmayogi Bhavan” in New Delhi. He emphasized the government’s commitment to providing job opportunities to the youth transparently and efficiently, reducing the time between job notification and appointment letters. Additionally, the Prime Minister highlighted the government’s efforts in job creation over the last decade, surpassing previous administrations, and emphasized the importance of the Karmayogi Bhavan in capacity building.
