RPF rescues 56 minors, 4 women, and apprehends 23 Illegal migrants in November
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) demonstrated its commitment to safeguarding passengers and combating illegal activities by rescuing 56 minors and 4 women, and detaining 23 Bangladeshi nationals during a series of operations conducted across railway stations from November 1 to 30.
On November 27, the RPF team at Katihar railway station rescued a runaway minor boy during routine checks. After verifying his details, the child was handed over to Child Line, Katihar for safe custody and further care.
Throughout November, RPF personnel across the NFR network intervened to assist children travelling alone or under suspicious circumstances.
On November 21, a joint operation by the RPF Dharmanagar and BSF 97BN Shipinjuri detected four Bangladeshi nationals at Dharmanagar railway station. These individuals failed to provide valid documentation and admitted to entering India illegally. They were subsequently handed over to the BSF for legal action.
In total, 23 Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended during the month, with incidents reported from stations such as Agartala, Jirania, and Dharmanagar.
RPF personnel deployed at railway stations and onboard trains remain vigilant against illegal infiltration, human trafficking, and other suspicious activities. Their efforts include routine checks to detect unauthorized entry from border areas, identifying vulnerable individuals, such as minors and women in suspicious circumstances, and ensuring their safety and coordinating with local law enforcement agencies, child welfare organizations, and the Border Security Force (BSF) to handle cases involving human trafficking and illegal migration.
The RPF’s proactive measures in November reflect their unwavering commitment to passenger safety and border security. By rescuing vulnerable individuals and intercepting illegal entrants, the RPF continues to uphold its role as a key force in securing railway operations and ensuring the welfare of passengers.
