Rs. 40 crores allocated for Meghalaya’s Chief Minister’s Special Development Fund
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has informed that an amount of Rs. 40 crores for carrying out various activities under the Chief Minister’s Special Development Fund (CMSDF) for the financial year 2024-25 while asserting that an amount of Rs. 51 crore was spent during the past two years to build various community infrastructures.
Different types of infrastructure are needed at the community level for promoting greater citizen engagement and well-being, Sangma said while placing the Meghalaya State Budget for the financial year 2024-25 in the ongoing Budget Session on Wednesday.
Informing that there are genuine demands for community halls, playfields and recreational spaces, which are being fulfilled through different Government programs, Sangma said that infrastructure like gyms, football grounds, cinemas and cultural spaces that have a revenue potential can be taken up under CM-ELEVATE with government subsidy of 35%.
The Chief Minister said that community halls are being taken up in 450 remote villages under the Meg-LIFE project with an estimated cost of Rs 108 crore and he also added that in the next four years the Government will build auditoria in all the districts.
