Rs 51 lakh seized in 3 districts of Garo Hills

Over Rs 51.55 lakh has been seized in three districts of Garo Hills on Friday. 

Of this, Rs 14.90 lakh was seized in West Garo Hills, 9 litres of liquor costing Rs 3,912 was also seized in the district, state’s chief electoral officer (CEO) FR Kharkongor said.

He said Rs 98,000 was also seized from South Garo Hills and Rs 65,000 from South West Garo Hills.

The seizures were during the checking conducted as part of implementing the model code of conduct to ensure free and fair elections are held on February 27.
