Meghalaya to have first woman Chief Secretary
Meghalaya Government on Wednesday appointed RV Suchiang, a 1989- batch IAS officer as the new chief secretary, replacing MS Rao. RV Suchiang became the first women Chief Secretary of the State.
As per notification “Smti R.V. Suchiang, IAS (RR:1989) Additional Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya, Personnel & A.R., Cabinet Affairs, Finance, Home (Police) Departments etc., is posted as Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya with effect from the date of superannuation of Shri M.S. Rao, IAS (RR: 1987), Chief Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya i.e. on 30th September, 2021.
On assumption of charge as Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya, Smti R.V. Suchiang, IAS (RR: 1989) shall also function as State Vigilance Commissioner, Meghalaya.”
