Rymbui slams MPCC chief for alleging UDP of corruption
United Democratic Party (UDP) leader and cabinet minister Lahkmen Rymbui on Tuesday slammed the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Vincent Pala for crossing the limit of decency by accusing the UDP of corruption.
“Vincent Pala has crossed the limit of decency because he should understand that as a president of the Congress he should introspect why everybody is leaving him and now he is starting to allege everybody,” Rymbui said.
Rymbui, who is also holding charge of education and home portfolios, said that Pala should spell out the policies of the Congress for 2023 if he is a real politician.
“But from a senior politician and that too a three-time MP like him to term everybody as corrupt and that every department is corrupt, it is totally unacceptable. I respect him and his politics but to come from his mouth these types of allegations, it is again unacceptable,” Rymbui said.
“I should conclude by saying that Vincent speaks nonsense and acts innocent,”he said
When asked about the Congress’ decision to chargesheet the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government, the UDP leader said, “The MPCC president is trying to become the petitioner, the investigating officer and the prosecutor and the judge – so let the people judge.”
Pala had alleged that the UDP is more corrupt than the NPP and other coalition partners in the MDA government.
