Sabahmuswang athletes win Fit India Freedom Run 4.0 and Run for Unity
Sabahmuswang’s runners, including Happiness Phawa and Teiboklang Biam won the Fit India Freedom Run 4.0 and Run for Unity held in Jowai town on Tuesday. This event was organized by the Deputy Commissioner’s office, West Jaintia Hills District, in collaboration with the District Sports Officer’s office, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai.
Khroobok Passah, District Sports Officer, officially flagged off the race, which witnessed participation from over 155 athletes.
The race route started from the Main Gate of Kiang Nangbah Stadium (the starting point) and followed a path that led through Ladthadlaboh Main Road, Jowai Public School, Gate Polytechnic, Kshaid Rymphum, Salaroh, Dulong Poh-hali Road, Dulong, Pamhadem, Panaliar (Civil Hospital), Iongpiah, Mission Compound, H.K. Singh School, D.C. Office, New Hill, National Highway, and ultimately concluded at Kiang Nangbah Indoor Stadium (the finishing point).
In the Women’s category, Happiness Phawa secured the first position, while Monlangki Kyndait and Mini Kyndait, both hailing from Mihmyntdu village, claimed the second and third positions, respectively. On the Men’s side, Teiboklang Biam claimed the top spot, followed by Dasaman Kyndait from Sabahmuswang in second place and Daemiryntihki Pakma from Thadbamon village.
