SAFF to meet govt on Sept 7
The Shillong All Faiths Forum (SAFF) has decided to meet the state government on September 7, to discuss on the issue related to the re-opening of religious places across the state.
The decision was taken at the general meeting of the SAFF held at Umshyrpi College under the chairmanship of its president Bishop Purely Lyngdoh on Thursday.
SAFF joint secretary, Naba Bhattacharjee said that detailed deliberation and exchange of views were held among representatives of different faiths on the issue.
“It was unanimously decided to first interact with Government of Meghalaya on Monday, before finalizing on the issue of opening places of worship including other related matters,” Bhattacharjee said.
