Saloons, restaurants, barber shops allow to open: DM West Jaintia Hills
West Jaiñtia Hills District Magistrate on Sunday issued an order allowing the opening of barber shop, saloons, beauty parlour and restaurants with strict social distancing and SOPs to be followed to control the spread of Covid-19.
“Failure to compliance of the SOP shall result to immediate closure of the shops without prior notice,” the order said.
Barber Shops, Saloons and Beauty Parlours identified by the respective Headmen are allowed to open on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 7.00 AM to 6.00 PM.
The Shop Owners are directed to strictly follow the Health Protocol issued by Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Meghalaya. In addition, both parties should not indulge in conversation during hair cut/hair dressing.
Restaurants, Cafes, Food Outlet identified by the respective Headmen excluding those that are located along the National Highways are allowed to open on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 9.00 A.M. to 6.00 PM subject to strict compliance of the SOP issued by Tourism Department, Government of Meghalaya.
The District Magistrate has instructed all to wear face masks, maintain social distancing of 6 feet, follow cough etiquette and wash hands regularly with soap and wter and not to spit in Public Places.
Violation is an offence punishable with fine under Section 51 (b) of the Disaster Management Act. 2005
