Sampoorna by Deepjyoti India expands social impact with elderly care and women empowerment initiatives
Sampoorna by Deepjyoti India, a Mumbai-based NGO founded by visionary Deepjyoti Garg, has made remarkable strides in social empowerment since its inception last year. With 12A, 80G certification, CSR compliance, and NITI Aayog registration, Sampoorna is dedicated to fostering meaningful societal change.
Under the leadership of Deepjyoti Garg and Program Director Amrita Borkotoky, Sampoorna has been actively working to empower young women by enhancing their mental health and self-confidence. In an inspiring move, the organization has now extended its initiatives to support senior citizens in Guwahati, recognizing the urgent need for healthcare and emotional support for the elderly.
In 2024, Sampoorna launched regular health camps across three old age homes in Guwahati Pramod Memorial Old Age Home, Beltola and Senior Citizens Old Age Home, Hatigaon, Seneh – Bhabadadevi Memorial Home.
Last year, Sampoorna successfully organized six health camps, offering a broad range of essential medical services, including general health checkups (blood glucose, blood pressure, and key health indicators), eye camps for vision assessments, ENT checkups for ear, nose, and throat concerns, dermatology camps to treat skin-related issues and yoga and wellness sessions to promote physical and mental well-being.
These initiatives have played a crucial role in ensuring early detection and treatment of ailments, improving health management, and increasing awareness among elderly residents.
Adding a unique and heartwarming dimension, Sampoorna collaborated with the Assam Clowning Academy to introduce medical clowning therapy. This joyful and therapeutic activity has brought smiles and emotional relief to senior citizens. This initiative has successfully reduced loneliness and fostered a sense of belonging among elderly residents.
These camps bring together experienced doctors who ensure timely medical interventions, leading to better management of chronic conditions and improved overall health awareness among senior citizens.
“We have seen tremendous improvements in the happiness and well-being of senior citizens through these initiatives,” said Deepjyoti Garg. “Medical clowning combined with regular health camps has made a remarkable difference, bringing joy and dignity back into their lives,” garg said.
Looking ahead, Sampoorna by Deepjyoti India plans to conduct monthly health camps to ensure sustained healthcare support for elderly homes.
Beyond elderly care, Sampoorna remains steadfast in its mission to empower women, with a strong focus on mental health and personal growth.
Sampoorna by Deepjyoti India exemplifies the power of collective effort, striving to bring happiness, dignity, and better health to every life it touché.
