Santa Mary Shylla urges CM’s intervention on deplorable NH 6 condition from Mynkre to Malidor in East Jaintia Hills
In a strong plea to the Chief Minister, Santa Mary Shylla, Sutnga Saipung legislature, has raised serious concerns over the deplorable condition of NH 6, stretching from Mynkre to Malidor village in East Jaintia Hills District.
The MLA expressed deep distress regarding the poor quality of the road, which was constructed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), and conveyed the collective anger shared by the public.
The current state of NH 6 has caused severe hardship to the local residents, making their daily commute a challenging and distressing ordeal. The road’s surface has deteriorated significantly, leading to numerous potholes and dangerous conditions, putting the safety and well-being of travellers at risk.
In a bid to alleviate the sufferings of the people, Santa Mary Shylla has earnestly called for a complete and fresh blacktopping of the road. This much-needed improvement would not only restore the road’s usability but also bring relief to the community that has been grappling with this issue for an extended period.
To address this pressing matter, the MLA has met with Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong seeking his crucial intervention. Acknowledging the urgency of the situation, the Deputy CM has taken the initiative to convene a meeting with the NHAI Regional Officer on August 2nd, 2023, to discuss and find viable solutions to the deplorable condition of NH 6 in EJH.
