Scholarship update: 13,000 students paid, pending payouts after NSP maintenance

The Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Meghalaya, has informed that out of 27,327 Scheduled Tribe (ST) students under the Umbrella Scheme of Post Matric Scholarship for the academic session 2023–2024, a total of 13,608 beneficiaries received their payments on March 21, 2025, as confirmed by the PFMS report.
For the remaining 13,719 students who have yet to receive the scholarship, an SMS alert was sent on March 19, 2025, through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), advising them to verify their Aadhaar seeding/linking status with their respective banks. The NSP allows 15 days from the date of the SMS for compliance, after which payment files become eligible for processing. This period ends on April 4, 2025.
However, due to scheduled system maintenance, the NSP portal has been temporarily taken offline from 5:00 PM on April 3, 2025, and is expected to resume operations by April 8, 2025. Consequently, further payments will be processed only after the portal becomes fully operational.
