Scholarships announced for UG and PG students: Applications Open until October 31
The Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Meghalaya, has invited applications for two scholarship schemes for the academic year 2024-25.
1. Ishan Uday Special Scholarship Scheme for North Eastern Region:
- Open to students who have passed Class XII or an equivalent examination from a school situated within the North Eastern Region (NER) through a recognized Board of Education including CBSE, ICSE, and NIOS.
- Only students already admitted in the first year of a UG degree program in an eligible University/College/Institution within India are eligible to apply. Students who secured admission in the academic year 2020-21 are eligible for selection in the year 2020-21 only
- The scholarship is available for the first UG Degree only. Students who have already acquired any degree are not eligible to apply.
- Applicants must be admitted through regular, full-time mode and have a parental income below Rs 4.5 lakh per annum. Students admitted via management quota or in correspondence courses are ineligible.
- Must hold a valid Meghalaya domicile certificate.
2. National Scholarship for Postgraduate Studies:
- Available for students pursuing their first PG degree.
- Applicants must be below 30 years of age and enrolled in a regular, full-time PG program at a recognized institution.
- Open only to those in eligible PG programs as notified by UGC.
Applications must be submitted online via the National Scholarship Portal at https://scholarships.gov.in by 31st October 2024.
