Schools & Colleges in Tura after Shillong to remain close from Thursday

Attributing to recent spike in Positive Corona cases from returnees to the Tura town who are coming from different States having lockdown and exponential cases, the District Administration West Garo Hills District has directed all schools and other educational institutions of Tura Town including St. John Secondary School, Chibragre and Auxillium inSecondary School, Alotgre to remain closed from 28 April, 2021 to 8 May, 2021.

This is as according to an order issued by Ram Singh, IAS, District Magistrate, West Garo Hills, Tura under section 144 Cr.P.C. read together with Regulation 3 of the Meghalaya Epidemic Disease, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020.

The order read that ongoing MBOSE examinations will continue as scheduled by strictly following COVID protocols. All the institutions shall maintain the classes through online teaching.

Further from 28 April, 2021 all shops and commercial establishment shall close every day at 7:00 P.M. in Tura Town but Sunday will be whole day closed. However, home delivery services shall continue including Medicine shops.

Night Curfew from 10:00 P.M. to 5:00 A.M. all over the district till further order. However, it will not be applicable to Security forces, Medical team and other Emergency Services including goods transport and Inter State transport.
