Seinraij Jowai waives rental fees to all traders
The Seinraij Jowai, Religious organization of the Niamtre or traditional faith has announced its decision to waive rental fees to all traders in view of the ongoing lockdown to contain the spread of COVID-19, which has badly affected the livelihood activities of the people.
“We decided to waive rental fees to all traders including vendors during the lockdown period,” President of Seinraij Jowai, OR Challam told reporters after the meeting held here on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by the Dolloi of Elaka Jowai, Puramon Kynjing and general secretary of Seinraij Jowai, Arwotki Sumer.
Challam said the decision will be of great help to all traders who are renting on its (Seinraij) land and property during this time of crisis.
The Seinraij has also decided not to charge lease fees to those who are running public toilets and parking lots.
The president also urged all houseowners and landowners to also help traders who are renting their places by not charging the rental fees.
The Seinraij has also decided to celebrate the Behdeinkhlam festival by adhering to guidelines and norms issued by the government.
Meanwhile, the Seinraij has also said that it would allow cremation at Khimusniang, Jowai in case there are any casualty due to COVID-19.
