Seized coal auction in West Jaintia Hills

The Deputy Commissioner of West Jaintia Hills issued an auction notice for 1615.49 MT of seized coal in Shkentalang area.

This auction is in compliance with the Court Order dated 02-02-2024, issued by the Special Judge (MMDR Act.) at the Jowai Court on the order sheet of Amlarem PS case No. 11/(11)2023 under sections 188/34 IPC RW Section 21(5) MMDR ACT.

Interested bidders must submit bids with a court fee stamp, GST certificate, financial soundness certificate, PAN card, EPIC, and caste certificate.

The reserved price is Rs. 2160/- per MT. Non-refundable earnest money of Rs. 2000/- and refundable earnest money of Rs. 20,000/- must be deposited.

Bidders must register by March 21, 2024, and submit sealed bids by 3:00 PM. Bids open at 3:30 PM on the same day. Non-tribal bidders need a Coal Trading License.

Successful bidder must pay within 24 hours, and failure results in forfeiture of earnest money.

Successful bidder bears custody payments and can only dispose of coal after obtaining a transport challan and paying royalties and taxes. Deputy Commissioner reserves the right to cancel or postpone the auction.
