Selection trial announced for East Khasi Hills athletes ahead of 6th Meghalaya Games
The East Khasi Hills District Athletics Association (EKHDAA) has announced a selection trial for athletes to represent the district at the 6th Meghalaya Games 2025.
The trials will take place on December 7, 2024, at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Training Centre, NEHU campus, Shillong, starting at 8 AM.
Athletes can register on the trial day and are allowed to participate in up to two individual events. Chest numbers will be distributed at the venue.
Events include sprints, middle-distance and long-distance races, jumps, javelin throws, and relays across Under-22 and Under-30 age groups for both men and women.
Athletes aged 16 years and above are eligible to participate. Under-22 athletes must be born between January 21, 2003, and January 21, 2009, while Under-30 athletes must be born between January 21, 1995, and January 21, 2009. All participants must meet the minimum entry standards specified by the association.
Athletes are required to carry valid age proof, including original certificates like a birth certificate or Aadhar card. Running or sports shoes are mandatory. Participants should bring their own food and water, as no travel or accommodation allowances will be provided.
