SEMAM directs all SSA teachers to use TIMS app
The State Education Mission Authority of Meghalaya (SEMAM) has decided to make it mandatory for all SSA teachers to submit their attendance through the teachers information management system (TIMS) app.
The decision was taken after observing that the extent of daily attendance reporting in the TIMS App is unsatisfactory and defeats the purpose of accountability and administrative alignment.
In his order issued on October 15, State project director Swapnil Tembe said that the TIMS App is to emphasize the importance of ensuring that all Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers in the respective districts are registered and actively using the teachers information management system (TIMS) app for attendance submission which shall ensure the presence of teachers in the respective schools.
“Therefore, the attendance submission on the TIMS app shall now be mandatory requirement for all SSA teachers. This shall enable the department to hold accurate records of teacher attendance and the same shall be aligned with the release of salaries through the PFMS system,” he said while directing DMCs to monitor regularly by way of inspections to ensure that all teachers submit their attendance daily on the TIMS app without fail.
