Seriously injured West Garo Hills Polling Official succumbed to injury
In tragic polling related incident,one polling official who was seriously injured in a road mishap in West Garo Hills District on Saturday succumbed to his injuries on the way to Guwahati for higher treatment.
The bereaved polling official is identified Chesan Ch Marak and he is the son of (L) Adson Momin and Sengjak Ch Marak and resides in Chandmary Tura.
Marak was part of the Polling Party bound for 44/8 Jangrapara LP School of 44 Raksamgre Assembly Constituency in West Garo Hills. Their vehicle met with an accident on the way at Photamati as the vehicle overturned on the road.

Marak sustained serious facial and head injury to one polling official. Minor injuries have been reported for other polling officials and security personnel.
Injured were immediately shifted to nearest hospital Tikrikilla CHC from where Marak and another polling officers are being referred to a higher medical facility in Goalpara. All others were given the first aid treatment. All needed medical assistance is bring provided to all the injured persons.
Polling materials and EVM/VVPAT was secured by the concerned Sector Magistrate accompanied by the concerned Sector Police Officer in the presence of CAPF and was taken. to the concerned Polling Station which is being guarded by CAPF so that transparency of the whole electoral process is ensured.
