Set up entry exit point or face agitation: FKJGP to Govt
SHILLONG: The Federation of Khasi Jaintia Garo & People (FKJGP) today decided to agitate if the State Government do not set up the entry exit points within the month of May this year.
Informing this to media persons after the Central Executive Committee (CEC) at its office in Mawlai Motsyiar this afternoon, President Wellbirth Ranee said they will discuss with leaders of the 12 other organizations fighting for the implementation of the anti-influx comprehensive mechanism on the issue of entry exit points so “we will be able to adopt a collective approach” for pressurizing the Government.
During the meeting, new members to the Central Executive Committee of the organization were inducted and they Senior Vice President Palwanbor Syiem, Vice President Eldie Newton Lyngdoh and Chief Organizing Secretary Kitboklang Nongphlang.
Ranee informed that they have formed an expert committee to find out ways and means to address the unemployment crisis and submit their finding to the Government for examination and implementation.
The FKJGP President said that they sternly opposed the move of the MeECL for outsourcing of works such as meter readings etc to FEDCO a company from Odisha and they will be submitting a letter to the Chairman of the MeECL to quash any such move.
Ranee said that they formed a celebration committee led by the president and General Secretary for monitoring the preparation for the year long 30th anniversary celebration commencing from May 6 this year and concluding in December this year.
He also informed that two of its founding leaders namely health minister AL Hek and MDC Titos Chyne will grace as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour in the opening ceremony.
