Shillong Lajong and Ladthadlaboh continue winning streaks in Meghalaya State League
Shillong Lajong and Ladthadlaboh both delivered dominant performances today in the Meghalaya State League 2024, continuing their impressive runs.
In Wahiajer, Shillong Lajong showcased their attacking prowess with a resounding 4-0 victory over Mawtari Myrdon. The team started strong with an early goal from Yohaan Benjamin in the 17th minute, quickly followed by Deibormame Tongper, who found the net twice at the 19th and 66th minutes. Rimankhraw Kharumnuid also contributed to the scoreline with a goal in the 29th minute, solidifying Lajong’s position as a formidable contender in the league.
Meanwhile, in Tyrsad, Ladthadlaboh secured a convincing 2-0 win over Nangkiew Shaphrang. Banteilang Shylla opened the scoring in the 25th minute, followed by a goal from Samuel Phawa in the 41st minute, ensuring a solid performance for Ladthadlaboh.
In other matches, Attong Matgrik faced Pingera Do’gisik in Tura, suffering a 0-2 defeat. Jerime B. Marak opened the scoring for Pingera in the 40th minute, with Trainingbath M. Sangma sealing the win in stoppage time (90+1 mins).
At Mawkyrwat, Riangdo Youth battled Khliehmawlieh but fell short with a 2-3 loss. Philip Nongsiej and Batskhemlang Thongnirit found the back of the net for Riangdo, while Khliehmawlieh’s Samuel Shadap scored twice (66′, 85′) along with Kyntiewbor Myrthong’s last-minute goal (90+2 mins).
In Khliehriat, Iatyllilang Lumsehkot was overwhelmed by Rymbai Shkenshynriah, suffering a 0-5 defeat. Hesmiki Rymbai shone with two goals (4′, 60′), while Iaishah Bareh (60′) and MD. Aruwas Khan (75′, 82′) added to the tally, demonstrating Rymbai’s offensive strength.
Finally, in a thrilling encounter at the Shillong Sports Association, Patharkhmah lost to Mawmluh SC in a high-scoring match that ended 3-5. Patharkhmah’s goals came from Banpyndap Dkhar (13′), Damanbha Wahlang (47′), and Newbirthson Sankli (50′), while Mawmluh SC’s Ksankupar Khongngain netted twice (19′, 45+1′) alongside goals from Damutskhemlang Thabah (20′) and Balajiedlang Lyngwa (46′, 70′).
