Shillong Lajong signed Carlos Rodriguez Hevia as their Technical Director

SHILLONG: Shillong Lajong Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of Jose Carlos Rodriguez Hevia as their Technical Director, Coaching and Youth Development.

Jose is a UEFA Pro Licensed Coach from Spain with 25 years of experience in coaching and management at various Levels. He started his coaching career at different clubs level across Spain. From 2014 – 2016 he was appointed as the Technical Advisor for Arsenal Soccer Schools  which was based at Pune, India and was a member of the ISL team FC Pune City during the period 2015 and 2016.

In 2017, he moved to an I-league Club Minerva Punjab and was involved in the development of both the junior and senior teams. He had worked closely with a lot of the players that went on to represent India in the FIFA Under-17 World Cup held in India in 2017. After his role in Minerva Punjab, Jose was part of the development structure for Madhya Bharat Sports Club and Celtic Soccer Academy in Bhopal, India.

Club Managing Director Larsing M. Sawyan said “We are pleased to welcome Jose Carlos Rodriguez Hevia to Shillong Lajong. His appointment reaffirms the Club’s commitment to work on grassroots and youth development in a more focused and structured way and help in the development of local talent”. He will be actively working in the Club’s Youth Development to further improve Lajong’s footballing philosophy focusing on Youth teams and coach education.

Jose said that he was happy to return to India and work with Shillong Lajong and with his commitment, effort, knowledge, background and passion will be put every day in the activities that I´ll have on my hands in order to help the Club and all the stakeholders to reach the highest levels of excellence.
